Michelangelo Buonarroti
1475-1564

Michelangelo was an artist and sculptor, which is much like describing Galileo as a scientist. It is truth in both cases but totally misses the brilliance of their talent. It is an interesting fact that the year of Michelangelo’s death was the year of Galileo’s birth. Both men were very dependent on the patronage of the Medici. The first link below is a good introduction to Michelangelo, his work and life. The second link will show you some of Michelangelo’s work in the Bargello Museum.
