Giovanni Boccaccio
1313-1375

Boccaccio is the third of the Tuscan poets in the del Castagno Famous Men and Women frescos. He was a contemporary of Petrach, another poet in the del Castagno series. Together they had large influence on the acceptance of vernacular literature. Boccaccio’s best know work today is the Decameron.
