Museo La Specola

The building housing La Specola was a palace until it became an astronomical observatory in the late 16th century. The telescope is currently housed in the Florence Science Museum. The original observatory was on the upper floor, an area not currently open to the public. The lower floors display amazing exhibits of animal taxidermy and wax human anatomy. Plan to stay about an hour and a half to see all of the exhibits.
