Benvenuto Cellini
1500-1571

Cellini is another genius of Italian sculpture and design whose work is found in major museums worldwide. The second link below will allow you to view some of these pieces. In Florence, an outstanding example of his sculpture is the bust of Cosimo I in the Bargello Museum. Cellini wrote an autobiography, which is available in translation from Penguin Classics. “The Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini”, translated by George Anthony Bull.
