San Antonino
1389-1459

Saint Antoninus was a Dominican monk in the Convent of San Marco. He was a contemporary of Fra Angelico. He left the convent around 1445 to become Archbishop of Florence. His treatise, Summa moralis, discussed morality and ethics in commerce. The book by Raymond de Roover “ San Bernardino of Sienna and Sant’ Antonino of Florence” the two great economic thinkers of the Middle Ages “ suggests that his ideas were influential.
